Let me start this post by wishing you all a Happy New Year. No, the ball hasn’t dropped yet at least not in the U.S. but soon the celebrations will begin. Which means there is still plenty of time left to make your annual New Year’s resolutions
We are at the turn of a new year, shifting from 2012 to 2013. And if you are like me, 2012 came with some joyful times but also some real trials and hardships. I am grateful for the lessons I learned and am ready to put them to good use. How about you? As the New Year arrives I will be blessed to see another year recognizing that there are many who will not. If you have experienced loss of a loved one in 2012, be still and know what that loved one taught you and pay forward those good things so that their memory lives on. If you suffered illness or unexpected health issues, be still and know who your source of life is and be grateful for a new perspective. There is nothing like having a true awareness that you may not have all the time that you assume you have. The times we live in are unpredictable & crazy and life can be over sooner than you think.
What things are you holding on to that you need to let go of for 2013?
Is it Anger? Disappointment? Discontentment? Lies? Sadness? Whatever that thing is that is keeping you from being and or becoming. You only live once! Why live burdened? What purpose is it serving for you? Now, I am no advocate for recklessness or self harm but every day that you wake up, with breath in your body, you have an opportunity to choose to be better and not bitter. To choose to forgive because existing with unforgiveness in your heart is a heavy burden. To choose to say “no” to people who manipulate and use up your life’s energy. To choose to tell the truth about what you need from your loved ones and give to them freely what they need. If you have some things to work through with family members or friends, GET HELP, DO IT and Move Forward. If you have some individual things to work on, GET HELP, DO IT and Move Forward. Your purpose is waiting on you.
Have a Happy New Year.
