Ruck the Waterways #Go the Distance Challenge
As the season changes and warmer days are ahead of us, we are excited to get back on the trails. “Rucking” is simply walking/hiking with a weighted backpack and it is a great option to get moving. This form of exercise is both cardio and strength-building and burns up to 3 times as many calories as walking. Your heart pumps faster during a rucking workout to get oxygen-rich blood throughout your body, increasing circulation. It can also help improve your posture and build strength. This activity improves your all-around work capacity and endurance. This is an open event to the public you do not have to be a client at The FFC Center to participate *Please note this activity may be adapted or changed due to any unforeseen weather issues. Please wear comfortable/weather-appropriate clothes and shoes.

Virtual ASSYST© Group Clinics
Our virtual clinics were developed to be a universal, accessible, web-based and in-person mental health experience that helps to reduce the incidence acute stress following prolonged adverse experiences.
The ASSYST© procedures are Low-Intensity-Interventions (LII) that offer the possibility of direct, non-intrusive, physiological engagement with attendees distressing memories and their original components causing hyperactivation within the nervous system. These symptoms may be present on a sensory, emotional, and physiological level. The objective of this clinic is to help you learn to calm your nervous system, and process difficult information in a healthy way especially when you may be highly overwhelmed, anxious, or distressed due to every-day life stressors, as well as, to life’s extreme tragedies.
These clinics are less intensive, less expensive, less complex, shorter, effective, efficient, and more accessible than high-intensity treatments like Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). You are welcome to join one or all clinics offered during the month of March.
